#492 – Blister Packs and Clam Shells + a Giveaway

Zip-it Plastic Package Opener 3

What do you do when you see your mother struggling to open those plastic-entombed packages – the blister packs and clam-shells that contain fruit or vegetables? You do what Steve Fisher did, and design the Zip-it Opener.

When I contacted Steve about the possibility of offering one as a giveaway, he kindly sent me a Zip-it Opener to test. All I can say is that I wish I had this gadget decades ago! No more struggling with those impossibly-packaged containers. Gone are the self-inflicted wounds, the grunts and the occasional curse as I try to get at the product inside – so close, yet so far out of reach.

Now, one of you will have the opportunity to have your own Zip-it Opener. No more “Wrap Rage”, as Steve calls it.

Take a look as the Zip-it Opener chews its way through this packaging:

  1. Thank you for the information on this tool! I just went to their website and ordered 3. Two are gifts for my adult children and their families. I’ve watched them struggle opening their kids’ packages. Every toy now comes so encased that the parents even take their lives at risk to get the toys out. The one for me will be invaluable. My RA makes it so hard to open things!

  2. This handy little gadget will make opening up those tricky thick plastic packages easier.

  3. This would be so awesome!! I have so much trouble with that kind of packaging, I usually have to give it to someone else to open 🙂

  4. This would be the most helpful thing in existence.

  5. Sounds like a very useful tool in my household. Thanks for the info!

  6. This is SO COOL! And very much needed. Those blasted blister packs are crazy-making.

  7. This would be a lifesaver for me! I have severe arthritis in my hands and opening anything is hard, and these packages are torture!

  8. Look at that thing zip away. I want one even if I don’t win. Do you know where they are sold?

  9. I would be crazy not to enter your giveaway when I have been known to throw things on the floor in a rage. No one can open those clamshells. Strong men rip it and cut themselves. They should all be forced to wear Snoopy bandages if they don’t take care.

Only you can rescue those unwise men from harm.

  10. I just entered a#giveaway from @auntiestress for the Zip- it- opener

  11. It makes me cringe when I see anyone trying to open that type of packaging. Great giveaway!

  12. Thanks to everyone for entering. Melissa is the winner of the Zip-it Opener. If you’re interested in this product, you can order it at http://zipitopener.com/ or Amazon.com.
