On Pearls of Wisdom and a Pearl Anniversary, I introduced you to Annette. In one of her posts she shared her garage sale find.
This fabulous juicer happens to be one of my garage sale finds. It’s true – they don’t make them like they used to. This is one great little juicer that takes the strain out of juicing all of my favourite citrus fruits. If you press down a second time, it even changes direction! It doesn’t take up a lot of room, either.
Garage sales are a great place to find a just-so item, one that is better built, or a discontinued product that you just love. Over the years, I’ve been pretty fortunate in finding just what I need, and I rarely frequent garage sales.

A dishcloth or a bathing suit. Not you, I hope!
Have you found that when you’re wringing something out, it’s often your hands that get most of the wringing?
Here’s a little trick that effectively does the job.
Drape the item over the faucet or a grab bar. Take hold of the ends and start twisting – the item, not you! 🙂
Isn’t it amazing how much easier this is on your hands?

If you’re like me, you’d have to live at least five lifetimes to use up the collection of address labels that have been sent, unsolicited, from practically every charity going.
What do you do with them?
Here are a few suggestions:
- Keep a couple tucked into your purse or wallet. They’re a quick and easy way to enter a draw without having to do so much writing, thus saving your hand.
- You are often asked for your name and address when you are making a return. Stick one of these labels on, then add your phone number, if required.
- Send them to your friends and family to use when they snail mail something to you.
- If it behooves you to do so, you can cut off the address portion, using your Fiskars Paper Trimmer, then give the sticky pictures to your favourite preschool or primary school teacher to use.

Make your life easy at this time of year
Cutting and wrapping may cause you to sneer
A’fumbling fingers and wrists like cement
Gift bags and tissue enrobe a fine present.
